As a Pokémon Trainer, there are bound to be some Pokémon that are quite difficult to catch. To help give a rewarding aspect to these thrilling and perilous adventures, Cobbleland has included a "hunting" mechanic, where you are rewarded for tracking down certain Pokémon!
Hunts may be done in either a solo group, or with a party of friends! To do a solo hunt, no other action is needed apart from selecting the "Personal Hunts" option on the left side of the /hunt
menu.. Once you have done so, you will see 4 different tiers of hunts with varying objectives.
To begin a personal hunt, just select one of the 4 difficulties. Each difficulty will have a differing goal than the others, so choose the one that you feel the most comfortable with. These goals consist of 3 main categories;
Defeat (x) of (Pokémon) in Battle
- Defeat with a sword or other item.
Defeat (x) Pokémon
Defeat in a Pokémon Battle.
Find and capture (x)
Search for the Pokémon in the wild and capture them.
Once you've selected the Hunt you wish to pursue, simply click the wool block in the menu, and you will see a screen similar to this.
This is your projected rewards screen. Each Hunt will offer slightly different rewards, so if you feel that a Hunt isn't offering you exactly what you want, you can wait for a refresh of each Hunt, or choose an alternative difficulty. Here are a few examples of possible rewards you may obtain from hunts:
Rare Candies
Pokebuilder Tokens
Another reward obtained from Hunts are Hunt Points. These points will be the primary currency of the /huntshop
command, used to obtain various items.
Additionally to these physical rewards, you will obtain another kind of reward in Experience. Each Hunt will grant a varying amount of Experience, which you will then use to level up in order to take on more difficult and challenging hunts! You can check your current experience count and level in the "Personal Stats" section of the Hunt Menu.
Keep in mind that Hunts will have a small cost of initiating, so be sure to double check the price before accepting a hunt. If you've found a Hunt that you wish to pursue, on the projected rewards screen, select the "Start Hunt" button, and strap on your boots!
When you accept a hunt, you will see a helpful note on the top of your screen, stating your current goal and the amount of time left. In case you forget what your goal was, simply look at the prompted text. In this case, we have a goal of Defeating 5x Nacli in battle. This means that the player must seek and find 5 Nacli, and defeat them with a sword or other means.
Note: You have to interact with the specific Pokémon listed, any Pokémon within the same evolutionary line do not count towards the goal.
Once you have successfully completed your goal, you will hear a jingle play and can observe a message in chat. There is no input on the player's part once the goal has been reached, and it will automatically end. Make sure to follow the instructions to claim your rewards!
The final page on the Hunt Menu is the Reward Inventory. This is where you will collect all rewards earned from Hunts. To collect your rewards, simply click on the item, and it will subsequently be transferred into your inventory. Be sure to have extra inventory space before claiming your rewards!
Your Hunt rewards will stay within your Reward Inventory indefinitely, so if you aren't in a rush to claim them, don't worry. But then again, who wouldn't want these sweet rewards as soon as possible?
Sometimes, hunting alone may be a bit lonely or boring. And what better to cheer you up, than to hunt with some friends?
The Party mechanic allows you to Hunt with some friends. To create a party, use the command /party create <name>
to create your Hunting Party. But whats a party without company? To invite other players into your party, use the command /party invite <player>
. Each player you invite will have to accept your invitation by using /party join <party>
. You may only have a maximum of 4 players in a party, yourself included. Once you have your party all set, you can follow the same steps as before, just with some extra helping hands!
It is important to note that went conducting Hunts with friend/s, each person can contribute towards the objective. This makes Hunts much quicker and easier, but with a slight downside; some rewards will be shared between all players involved. This means that you get less rewards than doing a solo hunt, but you save a large amount of time with the extra help. Be sure to choose wisely, Trainer!
When you are finished with your hunting party, you may use either /party leave
, /party disband
, or /party transferOwner
depending on the course of action you wish to take. Good luck, and Happy Hunting, Trainers!
