๐ŸŒปThe Flora of Cobblemon!

These trusty little plants will be quite handy!

Mints

Out on your adventures, you will find all sorts of new and intriguing plants. Be sure to pick them up, as they could home in handy later. First, we'll go over a plant that will be very helpful for our Pokรฉmon Masters out there, in mints!

For those who have played Pokรฉmon Sword and Shield, these plants will be quite familiar. And, luckily for us, they are functionally similar, as well! Mints can be cultivated for their leaves, which can then be used to create nature mints. These mints will change the nature of whichever Pokรฉmon they are used on, which is extremely helpful for competitive play. There are 6 colors of mints; red, cyan, blue, pink, green, and white. As a general rule of thumb, each color corresponds to a specific stat of your Pokรฉmon.

ColorStat

Red

Cyan

Blue

Pink

Special Defense

Green

Speed

White

None (neutral nature)

Each mint (with the exception of white,) will consist of three of one color, and one of another. The color of the three leaves will correspond to the increased stat, while the color of the 1 other leaf will correspond to the decreased stat. As such, if you were to make a Jolly Mint, you would use three green leaves, and one cyan leaf. Since the green leaves are the majority, the Speed stat of your Pokรฉmon would increase by 10%, and since the cyan leaf is the minority, the Special Attack stat of your Pokรฉmon would decrease by 10%.

This rule goes for every mint, except for white. By using 4 white mint leaves, you will get a Serious Mint. Serious Mints have no increases or decreases, being a neutral nature. By using one on your Pokรฉmon, it will have no noticeable benefits or deficits.

Big Root + Energy Root

Now, lets move onto our next plant. This one is less of a traditional plant, but still important nonetheless. In this picture, we have two types of roots: Big Roots, and Energy Roots.

Big Root: Increases the health gained from draining moves by 30%. It is a held item. Can also be smelted to create a Remedy.

Energy Root: Can be used to craft a Superb Remedy, a medicine that restores 150 HP of a Pokรฉmon. They may also be used directly on a Pokรฉmon to heal 120 HP at the cost of 10 Friendship.

Both types of roots share some similarities; they can be found spawning in small clusters (anywhere from 3-6 plants) hanging from the ceilings of caves above the deepslate layer. Additionally, they are found in any biome, and they spawn more frequently near y=62.

When planted below any stone or dirt-like block at low light levels, these plants have a chance to spread underneath adjacent stone or dirt-like blocks. These new roots can be harvested, and a newly spawned root has a 1/4th chance to be an Energy Root. The other 3/4ths will be a Big Root.

Vivichokes

Vivichokes are a recent addition to the Pokรฉmon games, also being introduced in Legends: Arceus, along with the previously mentioned Tumblestones. These items are useful when making PP Ups, or PP Maxes, along with various healing items or foods.

Vivichokes can only be found through a few specific means, including wandering traders, villager trades, village houses, and inside the chests of select structures. When you are lucky enough to stumble upon this crop, you will only find them in the form of seeds. It is important to note, that when harvesting a vivichoke, you do not gain any seeds. To circumvent this issue, Cobblemon has included a nice recipe to help increase your seed gain.

Since every vivichoke crop will always produce a single vivichoke, you will always get a larger amount of seeds than you started with, if you decide to convert them. As mentioned earlier, there are only a few ways to obtain these seeds to begin with. (courtesy of the official Cobblemon Wiki)

Medicinal Leeks

Next up, we have a Farfetch'd's favorite snack! Medicinal Leeks! These water-dwelling plants are quite easy to farm, and are mighty useful for a Pokรฉmon Trainer such as yourself. When harvesting leeks, using a tool with Fortune can yield up to a maximum of 5 leeks per crop.

Medicinal Leeks can be used for a multitude of things. As such, we will be listening each recipe that they are used in.

Magenta Dye

Roasted Leek

Medicinal Brew

Leek and Potato Stew

Out of these 4 recipes, Medicinal Brew is the most important to be aware of. We will be covering all of its recipes on the next page, so stay tuned!
