🐭Catching Pokemon!

Gotta catch 'em all!

Now, I know what you’re thinking: When do we catch Pokémon?! And that, my friend, is what we are going to talk about next! In order to catch Pokémon, you will need a few materials; namely apricorns and metal ingots (iron, gold, copper).

All colors of apricorns, and the main ores used to craft Pokeballs.

While the ingots are easy enough, you might be wondering how to get apricorns. Out in the world, you will often see trees with orange tinted leaves, and a dark brown log with little sprouts growing on them. These are apricorn trees! By right-clicking a grown apricorn (you’ll know when they’re ripe for picking,) you will always earn one apricorn of that color. However, sometimes you may also get an apricorn sprout, which you can then plant wherever you’d like! Note: Breaking apricorn leaves will not drop sprouts.

Tumblestones

With the release of Cobblemon 1.5 there are a few new special crafting materials obtained by archaeological means. If you have played Pokémon: Legends Arceus, these are probably quite familiar to you.

From left to right: Black Tumblestone, Sky Tumblestone, Tumblestone.

Tumblestones are a renewable resource that grows similarly to amethyst. By placing a tumblestone either on or adjacent to a Magma Block, they will gradually grow to produce a large crystal. Mining these crystals with a pickaxe will drop multiple tumblestones, and these outcrops are affected by Fortune.

To locate tumblestones, look around strange structures and landforms dfor sweet loot! By locating suspicious sand or suspicious gravel and using a brush on it, you can find these tumblestones (or, if you're lucky, some awesome fossils!)

Suspicious sand and gravel will have a dark spot in the middle, and they will be noticeably different than their normal variants.

Once you get sufficient materials, you can start crafting Pokeballs! All Pokeball crafting recipes are conventionally the same; one ingot in the middle of a crafting table, with 4 apricorns surrounding it in the cardinal directions. The composition of each ball will be different, however, so it is strongly recommended to have either JEI or EMI installed to help with crafting recipes. However, if you are having issues with recipes, we’ve included a list of every Pokeball recipe!
